CompUSA complaint by Cfletcher
I purchased a 2 year TAP - Tehcnology Assurance Program from ComUSA for my business computer. My battery know lasts 45 minutes before it goes dead.

When I purchased the TAP, I was told I could just bring the computer into the store and everything would be done on site. I brought the computer into the store two weeks ago and was given paperwork to call the toll free number and it would be taken care of.

I just called the number for TAP and was put on hold for 15 minutes. I was told I would have to send my computer to their facility. I explained this is my business computer and I can not do that.

It was then suggested I download all my information to another laptop, then use that one while I sent in my 1.5 year old computer to have the battery tested and then if what I'm complaining about can be verified, they will replace the battery.

I asked to talk to a supervisor and he told me the same thing.

I'm convienced the TAP program is a SCAM.

C. Fletcher

International Service Request 1-652753746

I have been waiting for the reimbursement that I paid in advance (as I don't live in the US) for 3 months already. We usually contact via e-mail. Lately, April 18th, I got an email from TAP asking for payment method which I told them for 3-4 times already. I email the payment method again but haven't heard anything since then. I don't even know if they got my mail. I sent email again but no answer. Please let me know what I should do next. When I called, the system kept on telling me to wait for the available line but never got it. I used to wait for about 20 mins and it's an international call from Thailand.

They're just doing what the store would have before they requested a battery replacement; verify that it needs replaced. Since the stores are gone you have to send it in. It is not a scam, you're going to get what you paid for; just not as easy or quick as you hoped for. The whole world does not revolve around you, things won't always go your way.
